Your task

In your programme the audience will find information on:

• William Shakespeare
• Shakespeare's theatre and his audience
• Romeo and Juliet

The information you include in your programme should

• provide the audience with the most important facts about the author, his play and his time
• help the audience understand and enjoy the play by explaining some of the differences between Shakespeare's time and his theatre and ours

Your programme will be divided into four parts:

1. William Shakespeare: the man and his works
2. The Elizabethan Stage
3. The Elizabethan audience
4. Romeo and Juliet (+ advertising leaflet)

Instead of producing a printout version of the programme, you can also create a homepage for the drama group's performance of Romeo and Juliet. The contents should be the same as in the printout version.
